Why is my favorite cafe not listed?

Fuzhou Coffee is an editor-curated catalog focused on independent and specialty venues. We expand coverage week by week as we verify hours, menus, and freshness on the ground. You can suggest a venue from inside the app — tap the menu on any screen and choose Suggest, or go to Profile → Suggest. We review every submission and usually apply the change within 72 hours.

Why are chain coffee shops not in the default list?

The app is independent-first by design. National mass chains (Starbucks, Luckin, Cotti, Manner-style discovery) are excluded from default browsing. Individual chain locations may appear through editorial exception if they have genuine cultural significance for Fuzhou — for example, a listed historic-house location. This is a product principle, not a bug.

How accurate is the freshness badge?

Every venue carries a freshness state: editor-verified, owner-verified, community-confirmed, imported baseline, or needs recheck. Hours verified within 30 days are considered fresh. Between 31 and 60 days they are flagged for review. After 60 to 90 days they move to needs recheck. After 90 days they are marked stale. If you notice anything wrong, please use the Suggest flow inside the app.

I'm a cafe owner. How do I claim my venue?

Tap Claim this venue on your detail page, or email us with your venue name, a photo of your business license or tenancy document, and an official email or phone number. We review claims manually and respond within 48 hours. Once approved, you get limited update access to hours, seasonal specials, and event publishing, with an audit log on every change.

Why does the app ask for location only on the Map tab?

We only use your location to rank nearby venues when you are actively looking at the map. The rest of the app works without location permission. We never ask for background location and we never store your location history on our servers.

How do I delete my account and data?

Go to Profile → Sign out and then email us at coffee-fuzhou@weiming.ai from your Apple ID relay address with the subject "delete my account". We remove your account, private notes, saves, and visits within 30 days and confirm when done. You can also revoke the app's Sign in with Apple access at any time in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Password & Security → Sign in with Apple.

Can I use the app outside Fuzhou?

Fuzhou Coffee is a city-specific product. It works anywhere you install it, but the catalog only covers Fuzhou. We are focusing on doing one city well rather than spreading thin across many. That is deliberate.

Does the app have ads or in-app purchases?

No. The app is free and there are no third-party ads, no in-app purchases, and no tracking SDKs. If the app evolves toward merchant tooling (claimed profile upgrades, enhanced media, event promotion), those will be optional and clearly labelled, and will never affect discovery ranking.

What devices does the app require?

iOS 26 or later on iPhone. iPad split-view is not supported in V1. macOS support is not planned.
